A Visit to Bartlett Illinois

Bartlett Nature Center

My mom and I agreed that Bartlett Nature Center had some terrific exhibits, which we thoroughly enjoyed during our day trip to Bartlett, Illinois. The staff members at this Bartlett Nature Center were so deeply knowledgeable, and they put forth much effort to make our visit utterly enjoyable. Indeed, it was thrilling to see so many lovely animals and birds on display that were taxidermied. Among those animals and birds at the nature center, we saw close up a snowy owl, a ruffed grouse, a long-eared owl, a hawk, a coyote, a fox, as well as a buffalo. In addition, some amphibians are on display that is alive, including some interesting snakes that can be found in the Bartlett region. Mom and I took a walk along the trail among the beautiful trees. We enjoyed the many birds that were happily chirping away. We enjoyed some refreshing ice cream, as a small booth on-site sold ice cream and various types of beverages.

Amy’s Hallmark Shop

Mom always loved Hallmark stores as far back as I can remember. So Mom and I stopped by Amy’s Hallmark Shop for a while. It seemed like the store had a million cards, but somehow Mom could find the perfect ones to send to people. She picked out some cheerful cards to send to her friends who live in Europe. She got a birthday card for her sister. Then she also got a romantic card for her boyfriend who resides in Europe, as my dad had passed away five years ago, unfortunately. But it was nice to know that my dear mom had someone special in her life once again. So I decided to pick up some cards on hand for some special occasions coming up soon. The store was well laid out, and it had many interesting figurines and ornaments. My mom decided to buy a few of those too.

Wee-Dee’s

Mom and I were getting quite hungry, so we knew that the time had come that we had to find a place that serves tasty fries since my mom loves fries so much. I really do not think I have ever seen someone love fries as much as my mom does. Therefore, we pulled into Wee-Dee’s to have something to eat that would include fries, of course. The service at Wee-Dee’s was top class, and the staff members were so friendly. We really enjoyed the ambiance of the place. The fries were thick, hot, spicy, and so tasty. Yes, they were perfect. We even ordered some extra ones to take with us in the car for the ride home. My mom had a pita filled with garden vegetables, some different types of cheeses, and a sweet Chinese glaze. I had the Philly cheesesteak. The coffee was good and strong. Mom prefers tea, so she had a sizzling cup of ginger tea. Finally, we each indulged in some strawberry cheesecake that was so heavenly.
