Katherine Murzanski, DNP

Katherine Murzanski, known to many as Kasia, is a board-certified Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with a robust educational and professional background. She holds a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology and a Master’s in Nursing and Clinical Nurse Leadership from Elmhurst University, capped off with a Doctorate from Rush University. Kasia’s expertise spans intensive care, hospice care, clinical and administrative leadership, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to healthcare.

Kasia has recently transitioned into interventional pain medicine, drawn to the specialty by her nursing experience in both intensive care and hospice, where pain management consistently emerged as crucial to patient care. This, combined with her rotations in reconstructive orthopedics, ignited her passion for improving patient functionality and quality of life without the constant challenge of pain. Her focus in this area reflects a commitment to addressing pain not just as a symptom, but as a barrier to fully living.

Fluent in Polish, Kasia serves on the Junior Board of the Polish American Medical Society. In her free time, she teaches as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Elmhurst University, nurturing the next generation of nurses.

Living in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, she balances her demanding career with family life, enjoying time with her husband, daughter, and chocolate lab. Kasia is also an avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast, cherishing moments spent skiing, snorkeling, sailing, hiking, and experiencing new cuisines.
