Elgin Public Museum helped to provide my neighbor friend and I with some broader knowledge in regard to the various aspects of anthropology and natural science that are related to the region of Elgin, Illinois. The interactive exhibits were so amazing. We truly appreciated how much beauty and culture the museum shed on the region of Elgin, Illinois, both for the present time and the past era. It is good to be able to increase our awareness of such issues. There was a convenient elevator in the building, which was helpful for my elderly neighbor. It was amazing to see different turtle shells, a collection of lovely furs, and wide array of other interesting things, such as different white owls from the region, which had been masterfully stuffed by a taxidermist.
Surrounding Elgin Public Museum in Lords Park, which is vast, breathtaking, and outstandingly well maintained. Thus, we were able to view some gorgeous elk and powerful bison that live on the many acres that surround the museum. The bison and elk were utterly beautiful, and they did not seem to mind us looking on while they grazed on long grass. We watched for a few minutes and then took some pictures of them. We also asked some other visitors to take a few pictures of us to commemorate our day there. Then after a while, we sat on a bench near the fenced area where we enjoyed some egg salad sandwiches and pepperoni sticks that my neighbor friend had packed for lunch for us. She even brought along a thermos of homemade lemonade, which was sensational.
Elgin History Museum proved to be highly informative. There were some nice interactive displays, and we even looked around the incredible research library on site. We decided to look up a bit of information about some of our Illinois ancestors in the research library. My neighbor friend was intrigued to discovered that one of her ancient ancestors had come from the nation of Greece, which she had not previously known. The historic artifacts were so well preserved. Overall, this museum is a real gem museum in the region of Elgin since I have always had a deep love of history of different places in the United States.
Fire Barn 5 Museum was a wonderful experience. This is a historical building that showcases pictures of horses as well as a carriage that was used for firefighting. Then the carriage had become replaced with the usage for the sake of putting out fires in the region. The architecture of the fire barn is noted as being classical revivalist in style. The fire barn actually served as an operational fire station up into the year 1991. That same year, it had become noted as being part of the National Register of Historic Places. The old fire engines were so red and shiny. They were absolutely splendid to view. Naturally, we had to take some pictures to remember our museum exploration day.
