Palatine IllinoisWhen I arrived in Palatine, Illinois for a leisurely day, I had no real plans of what I would do or discover there. But I did know that I was hungry when I arrived in Palatine, Illinois, so I had to find a place to have lunch.

Gianni’s Cafe

I sure was happy to find Gianni’s Cafe that serves amazing and delicious Italian food. The dining room was bright, clean, and comfortable. I started off with some crunchy calamari that was yummy. The marinara sauce was thick, divinely red, and nicely sweet. I also had a side of fried peppers with sausage. Then I ordered a nice salad that was topped with three kinds of meat, plump cherry tomatoes, herbs and lots of onions. The chef had made some kind of savory salad dressing that paired with the salad just right. I had a huge appetite, so I also decided to order some eggplant parmesan that had a tasty sauce and the perfect amount of breading that surely added to the enjoyment of the dish.

Fannie May

Then I was in the mood for some great chocolate. Someone recommended that I should head over to Fannie May. I am so glad that someone told me about it. The sales people there are super professional and so cheerful. They welcomed me as soon as I arrived at the place. There is such a wide selection of chocolate and candy. I was happy to even be offered a discount of twenty-five percent off for a promotion they were having. Of course, I always love getting a great deal like that. In addition, they offered to me and other customers lots of samples. For example, they offered for me to try some Polish type of meat, some delicious deli pepperoni, and a fresh bun from the bakery. All the items tasted so good, so I bought something of all that I had tried. I also bought some peppermint candies, some chocolate shortbread cookies, some Belgium truffle chocolates, and some sugary gumdrops. It was a nice indulgent shopping experience. I would share some of this stuff with my brother at home, as my brother lives across the street from me, having recently moved back to the area from California.

Annie’s Unique Boutique

My brother had told me that he was in need of some new clothes and that he hated shopping for clothes. He never told me to get him any new clothes. But I decided that I would look around at Annie’s Unique Boutique. I thought I would look for some stuff for my house as well, as I like looking around at consignment shops. I found a pair of used shutters that were in good shape that I thought would look cute to add to my old shed that I had recently painted due to the fact of the shed having one window. Then I found some blue striped pajamas for my brother, a pair of gray jogging pants, a gray jacket that would look good for him going to work, three white shirts, a pair of brown dress pants, some black jeans, and a pair of khaki casual pants. I also got my brother some assorted t-shirts and a navy vest. I hoped the clothes would help him out a bit. The prices were reasonable and the consignment shop was well organized.
